About WMA
Our Formation

The first chapter of WMA was formed in Washington, DC, in 1962 and chartered in 1964 along with six additional chapters. To date we are close to 80 local chapters and can boost of a membership that is nearing 4,000. We are a non-profit, 501c3 veterans organization. We are the only veteran organization that is solely for women who have or are proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps.

| To foster, encourage and perpetuate the spirit of comradeship among women in the Marine Corps | |
| To promote the welfare of elderly, disabled and needy women Marines | |
| To provide assistance to hospitalized veterans and members of the Armed Forces | |
| To promote the civic and social welfare of the community | |
| To sponsor or participate in patriotic activities, especially those that perpetuate the traditions and espirt de corps of the Marine Corps | |
| To conduct programs for charitable and educational purposes |
